It's
ALL LIES!!!
Yes,
there are plenty of lies floating around out there. These lies not only
confuse people, they send people in the completely wrong direction and can even
lose YOU money. Because of this, we are about to tackle the top Internet Marketing
fallacies out there.
Lie
#1: You Have to be a Computer Scientist
People
tend to think that you have to be some sort of "computer whiz" to
succeed online. The truth of the matter is that as technology has
improved, it has become easier and easier for the average person to build a
website, develop content, build a business, and ultimately create huge success
online.
If
this were the 1990's, we would probably be singing a different song.
However, this is the age of SIMPLE technology. Anything that can be
automated is being automated, and even the most difficult tasks are becoming
much easier for someone with very little experience.
Web
sites have become easy
Content
and writing has become easy.
You can write what you are interested in, not what people tell you to write
about. Writing is very easy when you are passionate about something.
Getting
traffic has become easy.
Sorry, didn't mean to scare you with the traffic word, but it shouldn't be
something to be scared about. It is now easy to build sites that Google
loves and that people
Anything
can be learned and anything can be taught. We have taught 1000's of
people scared of technology how to succeed online, so we know it can be
done. In fact, if you are reading this right now, you have more than
enough computer skills! SERIOUSLY!
Lie
#2: Traffic Equals Sales
The funny thing is that most
people's first instinct is to aim for as much traffic as they can. This
is the wrong approach. Traffic does not equal sales...it simply means
that people are coming to your web page
People buy 100,000 clicks for $100
from some unreliable source and think they are going to make money. The
fact of the matter is that this traffic is complete garbage, irrelevant, and in
most cases, not a single click is even real.
One of the core principles we have
always taught:
Relevant traffic equates to sales.
You need to understand that the
people coming to your site are just that, PEOPLE. They are not robots and
if you do not deliver what they are looking for, you will be losing out on any
opportunity to earn a commission.
Let's look at a quick example.
Take the keyword "dog". Say you are promoting a guide on your
web page or blog that will help people "make organic and healthy dog
food". Do you think the word "dog" would be the best
search term to target? Is your page relevant?
Well...it has the word
"dog" in it, but the person doing the search could be looking for a
"dog pound" for all you know. This is what we call "wasted
traffic". Getting clicks without enough relevance.
The amount of traffic is not as
critical as the quality of traffic.
You can have targeted keywords
within your campaigns that only get 1 click per day, but convert every 3
clicks! 10 sales per month for 30 clicks is a pretty successful campaign....don't
you think? Now imagine have 10, 20 or even 50 keywords like this!
That is some huge commissions and is what million dollar marketers are made of!
Traffic does not equate to
success. However, traffic + relevance leads to online success.
Lie
#3: You Need Money to Make Money
This may apply to the stock market
or real estate investments, but it does not apply to online business.
The Internet is the ONLY place where
you can start a business for next to nothing and achieve massive results.
We know because we started with a bootstrap budget.
If you are on a tight budget, then
there are free marketing techniques that cost nothing to implement! These
include Search Engine Optimization and Article marketing, which are both very
easy to do with Wordpress Blogs which you can create in minutes What a lot of
people do is generate seed money using "free" techniques and then
reinvest the money back into expanding their business. Some members
create a full-time income using free techniques just because they don't like to
risk money.
You can earn money online with a $0
advertising budget (discussed later)!!
This may seem unbelievable and go
against conventional business rules, but Internet business does not follow the
normal rules.
Lie
#4: The Online Opportunity is Shrinking
During the 2009 holiday season close
to $30 BILLION DOLLARS was spent online
Here are the stats for online
spending in 2009:
Money Spent Online: $129.8 Billion
Yearly Growth: 10%
Yearly Growth: 10%
And this took place amidst the
biggest recession since the depression!
Although this number is
astronomical, it is STILL growing. Each year online spending will be
continue to increase. Imagine if you could earn just a small portion of
this pie...you would be very successful. This is the "GROWING"
opportunity that the Internet represents.
And the opportunity continues to
grow. People from all corners of the world are getting access to quicker
broadband Internet. The world's middle class is also growing
stronger. This equates to more people online spending more money...a huge
benefit to us as Internet marketers!
Lie
#5: Money Grows on Trees!
Money does not grow on trees!
In fact, most money is a blend of 25% cotton and 75% linen. :)
Many online companies or
"gurus" will tend to tell you can make $1 million dollars overnight
and this is simply not the case. Anything that states you can "get
rich overnight", RUN AWAY FROM. Save your money. You will
never hear this out of our mouth because we know it simply isn't true.
